- February
- The Monza Classic SE 500 EF (Emerson Fittipaldi) special edition is launched – just 500 units.
- March
- The Kadett is elected the "Official Car" of the Formula 1 race.
- March 1: Announced the joint venture between Packard Electric do Brasil (GMB Division) and Ericsson do Brasil for components production.
- May
- May 14: Launched the Kadett Turin (convertible).
- June
- June 5: The "Junior Achievement" program celebrates one year at the São Caetano do Sul plant producing hangers.
- August
- Aug. 22: Inauguration of the round track at the Cruz Alta Proving Grounds.
- September
- Sept. 1: GM Bank (Banco GM) and GM Leasing starts its operations in Brazil.
- Sept. 22: AC Rochester plant in Piracicaba – São Paulo state is inaugurated.
1991
- March
- The Kadett is elected "Car of the Year" by Autoesporte Magazine.
- November
- The "Junior Achievement" program starts at the São José dos Campos plant.
- Nov. 26: 2,500,000th Family II engines produced.
1992
- January
- Chevrolet Road Service is introduced.
- March
- Launch of – Chevette Junior (1.0L engine), Conquest pick-up.
- April
- The Opala ends its production after 23 years of success with 1 million units produced.
- July
- Chevrolet Day is created in São Caetano do Sul – celebrated the 3rd Sunday in July every year.
- September
- Starts sales of the Omega, the most modern car produced in Brazil.
- The Omega is elected "Car of the Year" by Autoesporte Magazine.
1993
- January
- Jan. 15: São José dos Campos plant celebrates 6 million engines produced.
- February
- Feb. 3: The commercial and truck plant celebrates 300,000 units produced.
- March
- The Omega CD 3.0 receives the "Elected of the Year" award from Quatro Rodas Magazine.
- April
- GM introduces the Omega Suprema station wagon and Kadett Ipanema 4-door.
- June
- June 1: 30,000th Kadett Ipanema produced.
- GM launches the first car with natural gas engine.
- August
- Aug. 27: The GM Instituto is created – our Foundation.
- September
- São Caetano do Sul celebrates the launch of the Vectra with an "Open House" for 40,000 visitors.
- October
- The Vectra is launched.
- Oct. 5: 40,000th Omega produced.
- November
- Nov. 11: 5 millionth car produced by General Motors do Brasil- a Vectra GSI.
- November 12: Chevette ends its production with 1,600,000 units produced.
- December
- Vectra is elected "Car of the Year" by Autoesporte Magazine.
1994
- February
- GMB launch the Chevrolet Corsa Wind 1.0.
- March
- The São José dos Campos Industrial Complex celebrates 35 years.
- São José dos Campos plant celebrates the launch of the Corsa and the plant's 35th anniversary with an "Open House" for 44,000 visitors.
- Quatro Rodas Magazine award goes to the Vectra the "Elected of the Year."
- June
- Launch of the Corsa 1.4 L.
- July
- July 1: Announced the AC Delco Systems.
- The Cruz Alta Proving Grounds celebrate its 20th anniversary.
- The Delco Battery system is ISO 9002 certified.
- August
- GM launches the Omega with natural gas for taxis.
- November
- The Kadett and Kadett Ipanema production is transferred to São Caetano do Sul plant.
- December
- The Corsa is elected "Car of the Year" by Autoesporte Magazine.
1995
- January
- GMB celebrates its 70th anniversary.
- February
- Both São Caetano do Sul and São José dos Campos plants are ISO 9002 certified. GM do Brasil is the first automaker in Brazil that receives the certification at two plants at the same time.
- Delphi is created
- March
- Launch of the Chevrolet S-10 pick-up.
- GMB achieves the sales of 32,635 units in one month.
- GMC Unity is created in Brazil.
- March 31: The São José do Campos Industrial Complex celebrates the production of 100,000 Corsas.
- April
- The GMB Executive Committee announces in Brasília an investment of $2 billion dollars until 1998.
- May
- The Corsa pickup and Astra station wagon (imported from Opel) is introduced to the public.
- June
- GM announces the implementation of the Sorocaba Parts and Distribution Center.
- June 5: The São Caetano do Sul plant celebrates its 3 millionth vehicles produced – A Vectra GSI.
- August
- The four-door version of the Corsa is launched.
- September
- The S-10 receives the "Car of the Year" award from Autoesporte Magazine.
- October
- Launch of the Chevrolet Blazer, S-10 with diesel engines and S-10 crew cab.
- November
- The Corsa sedan is introduced to the public.
1996
- January
- GMB announces 500,000 vehicles exported over the last two decades.
- The Corsa is elected "Car of the Year" for the second time by Autoesporte Magazine.
- February
- The new generation Vectra is presented to the public.
- March
- March 5: The Parts and Distribution Center is inaugurated in Sorocaba.
- April
- The beginning of CKD export to Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador.
- Launch of the new Blazer DLX 4.3 V6.
- June
- July 3: The São José dos Campos Building Council elects the first Sunday in July as Dia do Chevrolet (Chevy Day).
- August
- The S-10 pickup is elected "Pick-up of the Year" for the second time.
- December
- GMB executives announces to the President of Brazil the intention to build 3 new plants in Brazil.
1997
- January
- January 30: GMB announces the implementation of the Mogi das Cruzes Complex.
- January 31: 100,000th transmissions produced at the São José dos Campos Complex.
- February
- GMB signs the agreement of the installation of Gravataí plant.
- Launch of the Corsa Wagon.
- The Vectra is elected "Car of the Year" by Carro and Autoesporte magazines.
- March
- March 17: Announced that the city of Gravataí (Rio Grande do Sul) would be the new plant location.
- GMC Trucks opens its plant in São José dos Campos.
- Production of 500,000th Corsas.
- Production of the 8 millionth engines by GMB.
- November
- Engine Development Lab Inauguration Ceremony at the Proving Grounds.
- December
- GMB is ISO 9001 certified at all plants in Brazil.
- The Corsa is elected "Better 1.0 l. Car of the Country."
- The Silverado is elected "Pick-up of the Year".
- The GMC 7-110 starts production and achieves sales record.
- GMC receives the "Marketing Best ’97."
1998
- The Tigra is imported from Spain.
- The S-10 4x4 is launched.
- The Blazer 4x4 is launched.
- The Blazer elected "Sport Utility of The Year."
- The Omega CD, imported from Australia, is presented to the public.
- The Astra Hatchback 3-door is launched.
- Sale of Grand Blazer begins, produced by GM Argentina.
- The Omega is elected the best car at the 20th "São Paulo Auto Show."
- March
- The Vectra MPFI 2.2 launches.
1999
- February
- Launch of the Astra Sedan 4-door.
- March
- The São José dos Campos Industrial Complex celebrates its 40th anniversary.
- São José dos Campos engine plant celebrates the production of 1 million Corsa engines.
- September
- The Vectra is elected "Car of The Year" by Carro magazine.
- November
- The alcohol engine Corsa is presented to the public.
- Mogi das Cruzes Industrial Complex is inaugurated.
