Eye On The Next Generation

Chicago native Mekesha Whiteside knows a thing or two about taking advantage of the opportunities she’s been given. She was offered a job at GM as a manufacturing supervisor right out college and has constantly been working to broaden her career horizons ever since.

Mekesha knows that if you dream it, you can do it. Currently working as a product program analyst tracking costs for GM pickup trucks, she stays open to any new opportunities that present themselves and says one day she would like to work in one of GM’s emerging global markets.

But she is not only focused on building her career. She wants to bring other young, talented people along with her. Through mentoring programs, she reaches out to youth in Detroit to develop their skills and show them that they, too, can be successful in the business world.
