Age is Only a Number

General Motors’ Employee Ambassador Carmen Harden is only 31-years-old, but she has worked for GM for more than 13 years. A native Detroiter, Carmen developed a passion for math and science as a child and was first introduced to General Motors by her dad who worked as a buyer. With a love for the Motor City and a passion for math and science, it only seemed natural that Carmen would become an engineer for General Motors.

Since joining GM in 1995, she has worked as an intern, an engineer and most recently a production supervisor for the Arlington Assembly Facility in Texas. As a production supervisor, Carmen assists in implementing the Global Manufacturing System at the plant’s body shop.
