1991 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1

I have owned numerous foreign sports cars and Camaros and have always been a car nut, but this ZR-1 is my first Corvette. My wife has always wanted a Corvette and back in 2001 a friend of mine who has owned about 12 Vettes over the years let us drive it. We didn't even hesitate when he offered to sell it to us. Since then we have joined Lone Star Corvette Club, I became an officer in the club and we became Lifetime members of the National Corvette Museum. We have taken the car on the 50th Corvette Caravan, the ZR-1 gathering and numerous other road trips. It has won numerous awards and was featured in the 50th Evolution of the Corvette at Autorama in Dallas. Back in 2004 we bought an '04 Commemorative Edition for my wife. She fell in love with it when she saw it at the 50th Event. I drive my ZR-1 to car shows, track events and on cruises. It was only on a trailer one time and hopefully will never be on one again. I love owning a piece of Corvette history and educating people on just how unique the ZR-1 is.
When GM celebrates the beginning of its next 100 years on September 16, 2008, 55 Corvettes will be on display outside its World Headquarters at Detroit’s Renaissance Center. The Corvettes are in fact the Historic Motorama II, a caravan from the National Corvette Museum (NCM) which is comprised of one example from each of the 55 years of Corvette production. The caravan will depart from the National Corvette Museum on September 10th with stops along the way. People attending the GMnext Day activities on September 16th will be able to view the Corvettes before and after the official program.
