Bob Lutz, GM’s Vice Chairman of Global Product Development, gives a brief behind-the-scenes history of the Chevrolet Volt and describes the technical and design elements that make the Volt so revolutionary. Beginning with the Volt concept that was introduced at the 2007 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), Bob explains why the Volt spent so many hours in wind tunnel testing, resulting in a radically different shaped production vehicle.
The carefully shaped aerodynamic exterior features of the Volt are pointed out and their purpose is explained. Bob also presents the Volt's final interior features.
