What's Inside These Sustainable Rides
How do we get to a sustainable transportation future? Today’s young, talented students are already beginning to shape the future of sustainable transportation. Students from more than a dozen universities are participating in Challenge X, a competition that stretches teamwork, creativity, and know-how. GM joined with the U.S. Department of Energy as lead sponsors of Challenge X: Crossover to Sustainable Mobility, a four-year university student engineering competition in which student teams were challenged to re-engineer a Chevrolet Equinox to minimize the vehicle’s fuel consumption, emissions, and greenhouse gasses while maintaining or exceeding its utility and performance.
