Welburn Lake Como Interview
What makes the 2008 Cadillac CTS Coupé Concept and Saab 9-X BioHybrid Concept so special? It's all about the design - especially the influence of aircrafts. Ed Welburn, Vice President of Global Design and Product Planning, takes some time to explain.

When good looks and elegance are the most important criteria for judging a car, then there can hardly be a more prestigious and stylish event than the Concorso d’Eleganza on the grounds of the Villa d’Este on Lake Como in Italy. Since 1929, collectors from around the world present their exclusive cars here to a specialist jury and the public.
In 2002, the event returned to its roots. Since, the latest drivable concept cars are again participating alongside the classic vehicles – just as planned in the event’s original mandate. The 2008 Cadillac CTS Coupé Concept (presented by Ed Welburn, Vice President of GM Design) and the Saab 9-X BioHybrid Concept (driven by Mark Adams, Vice President GM Europe Design) participated in the 2008 Concept Cars & Prototypes portion of the event.
