Volvo GM Heavy Trucks
In 1988, General Motors put its heavy commercial truck operations under a new joint venture with A.B. Volvo of Sweden called the Volvo GM Heavy Truck Corporation. GM held minority interest in the venture from the beginning and later reduced its interest further. In 1997, GM sold all its interest to Volvo in order to concentrate more on cars and light trucks.
