I was there
Edward Reed started with Fisher Body Flint # 1 in 1927 and worked there until he died in 1966, finishing up as Supt of Press and Metal. His brother, Vernon, also worked at Flint # 1 for nearly 40 years. Edward's son, Jim Reed, started with Fisher and GMI (General Motors Institute) in 1955, worked for Fisher, Manufacturing Staff and BOC until he retired in 1984 from BOC as Director of Production Readiness. His son, Jon, started with Manufacturing Staff in 1986 and has continued with GM to now. GM has seen a lot of the Reeds, but there may not be a 4th as the current generation is looking in other directions.
