I am a third generation GM employee, both of my Grandfathers and my Father all worked for GM at Vauxhall Motors in the UK.
My Story
I joined GM as a Technician Apprentice at 16 years old in 1979. During my last year of high school I interviewed for an apprenticeship at the Luton Airport training facility. The interview moved along fairly routinely until I was asked if I had any family members working at "the Vauxhall." My paternal Grandfather John Miles retired from AA Block in the Kimpton Road complex , Luton of Vauxhall Motors in the UK. I believe my Grandfathers first involvement in GM product was during his World War II army service he drove the big military trucks (or lorries as they are called) from the factory to the Army depot for deployment.
