First he landed his dream job at General Motors, and then Amaury Diaz-Serrano was asked to do something he's fantasized about since he was 8 years old—design a Hot Wheels® die cast toy car. Amaury's sky blue race car called the "Chevroletor," is among the seven winners in the Hot Wheels® 40th Anniversary Designer's Challenge series. Chevroletor is based on a combination of the 1957 Chevrolet Corvette SS and several speed record cars from the 1930s. It will be rendered by Mattel as a Hot Wheels® car that will be part of the Hot Wheels® 40th Anniversary Designer's Challenge line that will hit stores in 2008. GM copyrighted the name for toy application.
