Restoring a Geo Metro Convertible
I am a Geo Metro enthusiast. My first car was a 1999 Chevy Metro, and then I later found a 1991 Geo Metro convertible, which I picked up on the side. It was full of rust holes and was generally in bad shape, but I had plans for this little baby.
During college, I took an entire summer to completely restore my Geo. I called it the "Summer of the Geo" and used my dad's workshop to do the job. I repaired the rust holes with fiberglass and Bondo, sanded down the entire car and sprayed a fresh coat of bright red paint. After that I ripped off the old ragged convertible top and replaced it with a new one. The old musty carpet went next. And after polishing, waxing and fixing it up, my little red roadster was ready for the road.
I'll never forget that summer. I truly miss that car, and to remember it I now drive a red Chevy Aveo hatchback, which looks very similar to my beloved Metro.
