Racemaster Ryan at the Baja 500
As the Racemaster for IGOTSHOTGUN, GM has given me the chance to cover many different types of racing throughout the 2008 season. From sports cars to drag racing, the technology transfer from racing to the cars available in the showroom is immense. But just as cool is the racing experiences themselves. I had the opportunity to follow Rod Hall and his sons during the 2008 Baja 500 and can say that it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Not only are Rod, Josh and Chad truly class acts, but everyone on Team HUMMER knows their role and works hard to get to the finish.
Keep in mind that this race encompasses 500 miles of terrain around the mountains of Baja, California – where a broken part can mean hours alone in the desert. Not to mention battling the elements of sand, wind and heat for over twelve hours. In my opinion, Desert Racing is one of the last true adventure sports, and Rod Hall and his team have forever won my respect. Thanks to Rod Hall Racing and Nick Richards from HUMMER for the chance to be part of this "thrill ride." Racemaster Ryan out!
