Project Driveway: Fuel Cell Future
First the media got to try out the Chevy Fuel Cell Equinox; now it’s the consumers’ turn to see how Fuel Cell technology works. One hundred drivers wanted in on the opportunity. Here’s what Byron McCormick, Executive Director of the GM’s Fuel Cell Program, has to say about this new technology hitting the road.

More than 100 electric vehicles, powered by hydrogen fuel cells, were placed in the hands of drivers in New York, California, and Washington, DC. Further deployment was in Europe and Asia later that year. Selected drivers included general public, media, influencers, celebrities, business and public policy partners.
Joining Chevy in Project Driveway were the University of California - Irvine; the California Air Resources Board; the California Fuel Cell Partnership; and the Air Quality Management District in Southern California.
