Eli Olds produced the light and dependable Olds Runabout (aka Curved Dash) model beginning in 1901. It is credited as being the first mass-produced gasoline powered motor vehicle. The Runabout was produced until 1907.
This unassuming wood-bodied Runabout was easy to identify; with its prominent toboggan-shaped curved dash, distinctive floorboard, and tiller steering. Despite its feeble appearance, the Curved Dash horseless carriage was versatile, reliable and readily available.
