My Years at General Motors France
I began working at GM France on November 1, 1968 as a Service Delegate forOpel, Vauxhall, US cars (after 5 years dealer Ford in Normandy country). At the time, Bob Lutz was Director, Vehicles Department GM France : Opel, Vauxhall, US cars and Bedford trucks.
During 32 years at GM France, I was District Service Manager and District Manager After Sales for 8 Districts (South West, Center West, Center, Britain, Normandy West Parisian, Center Val of Loire).
In 1973, I got to 24 Hours le Mans for the race and for GM France stand in the village. The Corvette Greder Racing equipage mix Henri Greder and Marie-Claude Beaumont arrive the first in the category GT GrantTourisme.
In year 2000, I am in pension. In 2002. I bought a Chevrolet Corvette C5 Coupé Hard-top with automatic transmission and every options. Today, I have 70.000 miles. This car is reliable, except accessories. It is a magic car.
I like the USA. In 1989, I visited the East Coast, Miami to New York by Orlando Epcot Center, World of Motion GM, NASA Kennedy Space, Disney World Florida and New York's GM Building on Fifth Avenue. In 1991, I visited Louisiana and Florida. In 1994, I visited the West Coast, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and California. Very nice trips.
In Normandy Beach I have ridden in a GMC Duke amphibian on the land and sea. They are many commemorations and Ceremony, for the Unloading US Army and allied the “D” Day June 6 1944 every years with Military vehicles GMC and Duke, Jeep, Dodge, chars Chairman and airplanes, Dakota… demonstrations.
