My Granddad's Holden EH
My granddad had an old EH Holden station wagon. I remember it well because even though it had blue smoke coming out the muffler, it could still pull a loaded trailer. It was a very good car, too. You wouldn't be able to put a dent in that old thing if you were in too much of a hurry. It was a dark brown with a white roof. The bodywork lasted for years, but in the late 1980s it started to rust in some places. The motor never gave up though. It still would start with just one kick over, no matter how long it had been sitting for.
When granddad died, in 1986, it was a sad day. My nana kept my granddad's old Holden because it was the last part of him that was still going. I've seen other EH Holdens around but they don’t have that same look and feel as my granddad's one did.
