DATAS IMPORTANTES DA GENERAL MOTORS DO BRASIL


1941

  • Montado o 150.000o veículo no Brasil.

1942

  • Em 2 de abril, mais um sinal de expansão: é inaugurada a fábrica de baterias Etna, depois Delco.

1942—1945

  • A General Motors do Brasil participa, durante o período da 2a Guerra Mundial, do esforço militar na produção de veículos e material bélico. São produzidos mais de 2.000 veículos a gasogênio para uso civil. Em 1943 é iniciada a fabricação de molas semi-elíticas.

1947

  • Em junho, a fábrica de baterias produz a sua 100.000a unidade.

1948

  • É conhecida, em novembro, a primeira carroceria inteiramente metálica, com 100% de matéria-prima nacional.

1949

  • Em fevereiro, é produzido o veículo no 200.000.
  • A fábrica de São Caetano do Sul precisa crescer. As obras de ampliação das instalações começam em maio.
