GM Fan
My love for GM started with my Grandpa. He only bought Chevrolet. Naturally, my first car was a Chevy and then a Pontiac. After that, I purchased Japanese due to influence from friends and the media. Although I had good experience with the early Japanese vehicles, I found their quality has decreased in the latest offerings. The last Japanese vehicle I had was problematic so I got rid of it and decided to try American again.
I wanted a Chevy Trailblazer, but my friends were against me buying a domestic car plus the media reviews were not favorable. However, the same media recommended my previous Japanese car - which turned out to be a lemon. In the same review they didn't recommend the Trailblazer. Go figure.
I've owned a lot of vehicles and the Trailblazer has become my favorite. Even my Japanese car friends have taken a liking to my Chevy. They can't believe it’s a GM. Needless to say they will consider an American car with their next purchase. I've also noticed that customer service, so far, has been excellent at the dealership level.
GM, if you're reading this … remember its one thing to sell quality vehicles, but customer service is also a key ingredient to your success. Customer service is your best form of advertising. When I purchased my Chevy Trailblazer I explained to my family and friends how well I was treated and they were all amazed. They didn’t get that kind of treatment.
Not all dealerships are equal however as I did find some GM dealerships to be bad. I had to drive one hour to find a quality GM dealer even though I have five dealership near me. My advice to everyone out there looking to buy a new vehicle. Consider an American car, more specifically, GM. After all, this is a GM site. GM has made significant strides and deserves a look at the very least. You might be surprised.
