GM Cruise Hospitality
Submitted by Charles Boyer
Just wanted to say thanks again for the GM hospitality and honor in participating at the Woodward Dream Cruise event this year. I have included a couple of pictures which entails a birds eye shot of the parking lot mustering area and one with the leader dog organization and the kids. Boy did they get a kick out sitting in the Vette and hearing and feeling the engine roar.
Students from the Leader Dogs for the Blind Trekker Camp spent time talking with Rick Wagoner, GM Chairman and CEO, at the Athens Coney Island. As part of the GM Century Cruise text messaging contest to pick the best vehicle in the parade, the students felt the contours of several classic vehicles and selected their favorites.
Leader Dog offers free, week-long Trekker Summer Camps for teenagers ages 16 – 19, who are blind and visually impaired and are safe, competent and independent travelers. Each student is provided a free Trekker Global Positioning System (GPS), which is a talking navigational tool that uses talking digital maps to pinpoint the user’s exact location and announces streets, stores, intersections and points of interest in 21 countries.
Thanks again and I look forward to any other possible event sponsorships.
