"The proposed congressional bill to blend alcohol made from corn with gasoline was opposed by the board of directors of the Automobile Club of Mobile.... (The) club did so because recent tests have shown that the proposed blending of alcohol and gasoline would increase the fuel cost to each car owner $25.26 per year." ($417.42 in 2008 dollars according to the CPI Inflation Calculator.
