Diversity: GM Past, GM Present and GMnext

Diversity is GM past, GM present and GMnext. GM sells vehicles on six continents and in 192 countries, owns facilities in 53 countries across more than 23 time zones and employs a global workforce of 266,000 from around the world who speaks more than fifty languages. Diversity is an integral aspect of every facet of our business. Diversity is our customers, our employees, our suppliers, our dealers and our communities worldwide.
GM Past: GM has a history of commitment to diversity is known for its leadership—and in fact has a number of “firsts” relative to Diversity. GM was the first automaker with a Minority Dealer Initiative, the first automaker with a Minority Supplier Initiative and the first to offer a Women’s Retail Initiative. GM’s Diversity Initiatives continue to evolve and is driven by a comprehensive strategy. GM has received many diversity-related awards for their work and accomplishments. In 2000 GM added to its Core Values: Individual Respect and Responsibility recognizing business success worldwide begins with each and every employee and leader taking responsibility for respecting others. GM’s policies support inclusion.
