Dayton Wright Airplane Company
One of the earliest airplane builders, Dayton Wright focused on small airplanes and was acquired by GM in 1919. However, the market for small airplanes failed to grow on the scale that had been expected and GM divested it in the 1920s to concentrate on the growing core automotive business.
