Corvette ZR1 Development Ride
I was there
Submitted by Zoltan Varga
The 1993 Corvette ZR1 was a 400 HP Lotus Engineering design that the Corvette group chief engineer, Dave McCellaan brought to life. The engine had 2 modes the first was the Valet mode a mere 300 hp and the 2 nd mode was the 400 hp mode. The 300 hp mode was for city /normal avery day traffic.
The best time I had was on a development ride trip in Michigan and Indiana with the ZR1 team. I was the exhaust design engineer for the Corvette. I rode in the last position and had to play catchup, which was the best ever.
