GMnext Contributor Matt Kelly talks with Beth Lowery, GM Vice President, Environment, Energy, and Safety Policy during the GLOBE 2008 Conference in Vancouver. Beth discusses her career, the impact of GM being at GLOBE 2008, the significance of Coskata's E85 announcement, the availability of sustainable fuels for consumers, the importance and affordability of hydrogen technology and what the future of fuel technology holds.
GM Canada is the sustainable transportation provider for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, and Beth introduces and discusses one of GM's hybrid, biodiesel and alternative fuel GM vehicles that will be used at the 2010 Games.

The GLOBE series of events is dedicated to bringing together professionals from the environment sector. Every two years, corporate executives, government representatives, environmental senior managers, urban planners and financial executives meet to discuss emerging priorities and opportunities in the business of the environment.
The tenth in the series, GLOBE 2008 hosted 10,000 participants, 2,000 conference delegates, 400 exhibitors, 200 speakers and dozens of international delegations from over 70 countries. The Conference focused on major themes such as Corporate Sustainability, Energy and Environment, Finance and Sustainability, and Building Better Cities.
