Bendix Aviation Corporation
Bendix was founded in 1924 as a manufacturer of automotive brakes and brake systems and was soon a major supplier to GM, which purchased stock in the company in 1928. In 1929, it became Bendix Aviation but the business focus soon moved back to automotive components and in 1960, it became the Bendix Corporation. GM divested its investment in Bendix in 1948.
