As my husband dozed during a flight to Las Vegas I was I falling in love with a photograph. What I saw was a beautiful piece of art. I woke my husband and informed him that "One Day" I was going to own this beautiful car. He smiled and said, "That's nice" and immediately went back to dozing. Hmmmm what to do about this dilemma? Owning this car was not likely since he works for Ford Motor Company and I was also a part-time Ford hourly worker. But I couldn't stop looking at the photo and couldn't stop thinking about that beautiful Solstice roadster. Fast forward to 2005...
I am no longer employed at Ford Motor Company due to cutbacks. I am now working for the American Red Cross National Testing Laboratory. And guess what is approaching fast? A birthday. Mine.
March 24, 2006 marked my fortieth birthday. I never forgot about that beautiful photograph of the future roadster for 2006. So, November 2005 I walked into Rowan Pontiac and placed my order! A gift to myself. She was going to be all mine. Waiting for this car was worth every second. I still look at this car as if I am seeing it for the first time. When I open the garage door (only on sunny days) I feel like I am five years old opening that Christmas gift your parents saved for last
