Personal story and photograph submitted by owner Phillip Lewis
for participation in the the 2008 GM Century Cruise

My name is Phillip Lewis, currently I work at the Fairfax Assembly Plant but I transfer to the Warren Tech Center on July 1st, I have a 2006 CTS-V....

First off, I would like to mention that this will be my first Woodward Dream Cruise, as this is my first time living in Michigan, and I'm very excited about just being there....

My 2006 CTS-V is like my third child, the baby of the family. It's the car I dreamed of. I really like the fact that no matter how old it gets it will always look good and be in style. It's classy when it needs to be and on demand it can pin you to the seats. The CTS-V is a true sleeper as no one expects that pretty CTS to roar so loud at WOT,

My passion for cars is my reason for working at General Motors, in my career I've seen the car from start to finish. Beginning from a roll of sheet metal to the final product rolling of the line, I cherish the opportunity to work for GM and the opportunity to be close to so many cool automobiles.

As for the passion for my CTS-V, just ask my wife, she says I rub on my car more that I rub on her. I keep it maintained, because I expect it to last a long time. In 30 years, I want to be rolling out my 2006 CTS-V to the Woodward Dream Cruise in the same condition, or better, as it's in now! As a member of cadillacforums.com I've meet a great deal of people who have the same passion for their vehicle as I. I've been to meets across four state, including Kansas, Iowa, Texas & Missouri. Through this forum I've already meet people in Michigan who also have a CTS-V. It would be great if all the forum members could participate in the cruise too. I'm sure we could get at least twenty V's together.

I currently have 30,331 miles on it. I have many Mmdifications and they are listed as followed: Billy Boat Cat-Back Exhaust with X-pipe; UUC short throw shifter; GM accessory Cross drilled brake rotors; Hawk brake pads; UUC Stainless Steel Brake lines; K&N; Tinted Windows; LED interior & exterior lighting; HID Fog lights and Custom sound system.

GM’s Century Cruise pays tribute to GM’s past and the passion owners have for their vehicles. On Saturday, August 16, 2008 this vehicle and more than 100 other classic GM vehicles will cruise from the GM Global Headquarters at the Renaissance Center up Woodward Avenue to the heart of the Woodward Dream Cruise in Royal Oak and the surrounding suburbs. One of these vehicles will be crowned “top cruiser” based on a text voting campaign.
