My name is Marc Carpenter and I own a 2004 Silver SSR. My story is that I have worked for GM for 37 years and I am one of the [SSRFanatic.com SSRFanatic.com] website's Administrators and I have a great passion for all GM vehicles.
My unique story is that my particular SSR VIN# 9684 was the only "production" built SSR that has a Pedigree history. Meaning, I was fortunate to have someone that had worked at the Lansing Craft Centre take many photos of my SSR during the 5 day build process. My photos was made into a poster by myself and I was invited in the Summer of 2004 to Chevrolet's Media event at the WDC. Chevrolet was introducing the new 6.0 L SSR in 2005.
GM’s Century Cruise pays tribute to GM’s past and the passion owners have for their vehicles. On Saturday, August 16, 2008 this vehicle and more than 100 other classic GM vehicles will cruise from the GM Global Headquarters at the Renaissance Center up Woodward Avenue to the heart of the Woodward Dream Cruise in Royal Oak and the surrounding suburbs. One of these vehicles will be crowned “top cruiser” based on a text voting campaign.
