Passion for our 2002 Limited Edition 35th Anniversary Camaro SS SLP 6-Speed Convertible started the first day I saw it.
I was at the GM Show and Shine for GM powered automobiles in St. Catharines in August of 2006 and saw this Camaro with a "For Sale" sign on it. Well, I took some pictures of this car, printed them and left them on our kitchen table. My wife came home from work, saw the pictures and came downstairs where I was watching the news and said, "Did you buy this?" To which I replied "No". Then she said "Why Not". A month later it was in our driveway.
It is a low mileage winter stored limited edition all original car.
We are empty nesters and had always dreamed about owning a vehicle like this, where we can put the top down, go for a ride and forget all the worries of the day.
We are especially proud that the engine was produced where I work – GM St. Catharines Powertrain.
Weather permitting, we regularly attend the local weekly Show and Shines. It does attract attention. At last years (2007) St. Catharines Powertrain GM Show & Shine we won the Engineering Directors Award for F-Body cars.
My brother and his wife live in Davison, Michigan and last year we both drove the cruise. They drove their 1999 Corvette Convertible and we drove in our 2002 Limited Edition 35th Anniversary Camaro SS SLP 6-speed Convertible. It was an unforgettable memory and a dream for both of us....
GM’s Century Cruise pays tribute to GM’s past and the passion owners have for their vehicles. On Saturday, August 16, 2008 this vehicle and more than 100 other classic GM vehicles will cruise from the GM Global Headquarters at the Renaissance Center up Woodward Avenue to the heart of the Woodward Dream Cruise in Royal Oak and the surrounding suburbs. One of these vehicles will be crowned “top cruiser” based on a text voting campaign.
