I think it all started from helping my dad rebuild the motor on the family station wagon around the age of 12. Or it could have been having an older brother working at a gas station and always helping him work on his vehicles. Seemed like he had a different car every week. One of the cars my brother had was a 1966 Mustang with the words “Catch Me if you Can” on the side. We had a lot of fun in that car.
I was really looking for a 1969 Camaro with a big block when I came across the Trans Am. The prices on the Camaros were so high I thought, why not just go for the newer vehicle and less miles for the same price. Having owned a 1970 Trans Am (same colors), in my younger years, may have had something to do with my decision . I have a wife and 2 daughters and we all enjoy going for evening rides with the top down. We have been going to the Woodward Cruise for many years together....
GM’s Century Cruise pays tribute to GM’s past and the passion owners have for their vehicles. On Saturday, August 16, 2008 this vehicle and more than 100 other classic GM vehicles will cruise from the GM Global Headquarters at the Renaissance Center up Woodward Avenue to the heart of the Woodward Dream Cruise in Royal Oak and the surrounding suburbs. One of these vehicles will be crowned “top cruiser” based on a text voting campaign.
