1975 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe

My name is Patricia McCulley and I am the proud owner of this 1975 Orange Flame Corvette. My husband Jerry and I purchased this car in 2003. Jerry knew that I had wanted a Covette for many years and we had looked at several different Corvettes since the early 80's and had never made a purchase. Jerry located this car through an ad in one of our local newspapers and made the call to the owner. We drove from our home in Livingston, Texas to Jasper, which is approximately 60 miles from Livingston, to take a look at this vehicle. The owner had purchased the car new, sold it several years later to a friend, and then several years later purchased it back. It had been garage kept and was in good condition. It had 35,061 miles on it when we purchased the car. We had the car repainted in the original Orange Flame color in 2005.
We have thoroughly enjoyed owning this car and have participated in many of the car shows, parades and other charitable events in our area. It seems that once you have the "Corvette Fever" you have to acquire more than one. We also own the 2005 Daytona 500 Budweiser Shootout Pace Car and that is another story on how we were lucky enough to be the owners of that car.
Jerry and I have been married for 31 years and have one son, age 25, and have hosted seven foreign exchange students through Rotary International. We just recently returned to the U.S. from attending a wedding in Croatia of our only exchange daughter. It has always been a treat for our exchange students to be picked up from the local high school in a Corvette.
You can just imagine my delightful surprise as I opened my email and read where my 1975 Orange Flame Corvette had been selected to represent the year 1975 in the National Corvette Museum Historic Motorama II. I had registered earlier this year but never seriously thought I would be picked.
Jerry and I are very honored and excited to have been selected to participate in this event and hope to make many new friends on this great excursion.

When GM celebrates the beginning of its next 100 years on September 16, 2008, 55 Corvettes will be on display outside its World Headquarters at Detroit’s Renaissance Center. The Corvettes are in fact the Historic Motorama II, a caravan from the National Corvette Museum (NCM) which is comprised of one example from each of the 55 years of Corvette production. The caravan will depart from the National Corvette Museum on September 10th with stops along the way. People attending the GMnext Day activities on September 16th will be able to view the Corvettes before and after the official program.
Look at the next Historic Motorama II Corvette participant, representing a cross-section of Corvette enthusiasts from across the country.
