My name is Jerry Skinner. I retired as a diemaker from General Motors Powertrain Willow Run Plant in 2006 with 42 years of service. I am a dedicated GM fan of both old and new cars.
I picked up my 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme on December 4, 1972 from Glassman Olds in Southfield, Michigan. The car is all original except for paint and top. The interior is original down to the original floor mats that were in it when it was delivered. The glass, most of the trim and bumpers are original. The license plate on the car is the one that was on it when it was delivered. The drivetrain consists of - engine 455 C.I. - transmission 400 THM automatic , rear end 2.73 posi. My Cutlass has a rally suspension that was only available in 1973. Other options on the car include air, power windows, a AM-FM 8-track that still works, Super Stock II wheels, and embroidered bucket seats. The car has 58,000 miles on it.
I attend the Woodward Dream Cruise ....
GM’s Century Cruise pays tribute to GM’s past and the passion owners have for their vehicles. On Saturday, August 16, 2008 this vehicle and more than 100 other classic GM vehicles will cruise from the GM Global Headquarters at the Renaissance Center up Woodward Avenue to the heart of the Woodward Dream Cruise in Royal Oak and the surrounding suburbs. One of these vehicles will be crowned “top cruiser” based on a text voting campaign.
