Our 1966 Cadillac has been in my wife Michele’s family for over 25 years. Her Dad is a Cadillac lover and collector, and this was his first classic vehicle. He has since purchased a few other classic Caddy’s including a 1958 Sedan DeVille and a 1969 Convertible. My wife and I always have been very fond of the 1960’s and have been collectors of household memorabilia, furniture, books & magazines from the era for years. We even found a home that was custom built in 1960 in classic California Contemporary style. The “finishing touch” to our 1960’s lifestyle collection would be the 1966 Cadillac.
After many years of admiring her Dad’s car, he finally offered to sell it to us in 2003. We are very proud of the vehicle and it fits in very well at our home. Our children, friends and other family members love to cruise Woodward on warm summer nights with all the windows down. It is admired by many for it’s long straight lines and huge quarter panels. To us, the style is very clean and sophisticated and truly represents the feeling of the mid-60s. It is now a permanent part of our family...
GM’s Century Cruise pays tribute to GM’s past and the passion owners have for their vehicles. On Saturday, August 16, 2008 this vehicle and more than 100 other classic GM vehicles will cruise from the GM Global Headquarters at the Renaissance Center up Woodward Avenue to the heart of the Woodward Dream Cruise in Royal Oak and the surrounding suburbs. One of these vehicles will be crowned “top cruiser” based on a text voting campaign.
