GM Passion – that began when I started working for GM in 1962 and retired 37 years later -- 27 years as part of the manufacturing process at Pontiac Motors and then went to staff at GM-Warren for 10 more years. I purchased quite a few cars over my years with GM; as close as I remember, 29 Pontiacs, 14 Chevrolets, 1 GMC, 1 Saturn and 2 Buicks. My "hobby" cars have been two 1963 Catalina’s, one 1965 GTO, one 1962 Pontiac Grand Prix (appeared on the cover of Cars and Parts Magazine) and one 1960 Pontiac Ventura. I always believed "if you built them you should buy them".
GM’s Century Cruise pays tribute to GM’s past and the passion owners have for their vehicles. On Saturday, August 16, 2008 this vehicle and more than 100 other classic GM vehicles will cruise from the GM Global Headquarters at the Renaissance Center up Woodward Avenue to the heart of the Woodward Dream Cruise in Royal Oak and the surrounding suburbs. One of these vehicles will be crowned “top cruiser” based on a text voting campaign.
