1959 Pontiac Bonneville

I am a currently a GM employee at HRL Labs in Malibu, California. I have owned six 1959 Pontiacs over the past 45 years, as well as many other GM "classics" like a '52, '55, '58 and '61 Chevy. In addition, during my teenage years (early 60's) my dad was a loyal GM owner and I had the pleasure of cruising Woodward in his '57 Chevy Bel Air and '60, '62, and '64 Buick LaSabres. What a golden time it was to be growing up!
While I can't bring my current '59 Pontiac coupe to Michigan for the Woodward Cruise, I will still be there again this year driving a '59 Bonneville convertible that I used to own. This white '59 Bonneville convertible now belongs to a doctor who lives in Bloomfield Hills. However, I have "'visitation rights" to my former '59 Bonneville convertible and will have it on loan from the current owner to drive for the day on August 16th during the 2008 Woodward Cruise.
The current owner of my white '59 Bonneville has another '59 Bonneville convertible (red) which he will be driving as well, so we both will have a car in the Cruise.
GM’s Century Cruise pays tribute to GM’s past and the passion owners have for their vehicles. On Saturday, August 16, 2008 this vehicle and more than 100 other classic GM vehicles will cruise from the GM Global Headquarters at the Renaissance Center up Woodward Avenue to the heart of the Woodward Dream Cruise in Royal Oak and the surrounding suburbs. One of these vehicles will be crowned “top cruiser” based on a text voting campaign.
