Personal story and photograph submitted by owner Scott Good - courtesy of the National Corvette Museum website - for participation in the National Corvette Museum 2008 Historic Motorama II.

We started our collection with a 1968 convertible which we are now restoring. Then we bought our 1999 as our driver, which we purchased for our 10 year anniversary. A friend of ours told us about a 1961, roman red with white coves, which was sold a block from where we live currently. The car was unique with a power top, power windows and a power glide transmission. We then purchased a 1963 red split window with black interior 340 hp. Our last purchase is this 1954 Corvette with red interior, which is a 20 year restoration. The car was restored by a National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) master judge. I am in the process of tracking the VIN numbers of all the black 1954 Corvettes. Currently, in my search, mine is and maybe the first black Corvette ever!

Looking forward to the Historic Motorama II and the 100 years Chevy anniversary party! See you soon and safe travels.

When GM celebrates the beginning of its next 100 years on September 16, 2008, 55 Corvettes will be on display outside its World Headquarters at Detroit’s Renaissance Center. The Corvettes are in fact the Historic Motorama II, a caravan from the National Corvette Museum (NCM) which is comprised of one example from each of the 55 years of Corvette production. The caravan will depart from the National Corvette Museum on September 10th with stops along the way. People attending the GMnext Day activities on September 16th will be able to view the Corvettes before and after the official program.

Look at the next Historic Motorama II Corvette participant, representing a cross-section of Corvette enthusiasts from across the country.
