GM’s Milford Proving Ground, in Milford, MI, was the first facility of its kind in the entire auto industry, testing vehicles for safety and performance in a variety of weather and road conditions.

The Milford Proving Ground's 4000 acres host a variety of test roads totaling the equivalent of over 132 miles of two-lane highway. Its trees and lakes make it one of the most scenic of GM facilities.

1928 Pamphlet

In 1928, General Motors published this pamphlet which explained the functions of the Proving Ground at Milford.

1938 Pamphlet

Following the Century of Progress exhibition in Chicago in 1933 and 1934, General Motors published this pamphlet that detailed the types of automobile testing undertaken at the Proving Groound.
